Boys & Girls Clubs of Oakland

To fulfill our mission - to develop our community's youth into positive contributors to society - Boys & Girls Clubs of Oakland must attract and retain a corps of caring and dedicated volunteers from varied backgrounds and interests to supplement the work of our professional staff. We need volunteers to assist in the following areas at our Clubhouses.

Programs and Service Delivery Volunteers:

• "The Brain Factory": Tutors and instructional assistants
• SMART Moves: Guest speakers and drivers
• The Partnership Program: Mentors
• College Incentive Program: Guest speakers and drivers
• Scholarships: Applicant interviewers and screeners
• Awards and Recognition: Speakers and presenters
• Jr. Staff / Career Development: Guest speakers and drivers
• Leadership Development Group Clubs: Guest speakers and drivers
• Health Screening: Doctors for physical exams
• Health and Physical Education: Coaches, referees and drivers
• Career Prep/Job Ready Beginnings: Guest speakers and drivers

Fund Development:

• Annual Support Campaign: Committee participants
• Special Event Fund Raisers
  • Salute to Youth: Committee participants and sponsors
  • Benefit Dance: Committee participants and sponsors
  • Golf Tournament: Committee participants and sponsors
